Milk

Here is a trick to slim down while saving money.

Try to drink a cup of milk before every meal. It not only reduce your appetite, it also provides you sufficient calcium. Study did show people who drink a cup of milk before meal lose more pound than people who don't.

Note: you may want to buy one litre of milk instead of 200 ml pack. Smple math: 1 litre package costs you $1.50 while 200ml package costs you $1.00. if you buy 5 200ml package, you have to pay $5 for them.

Did you get your pay?

At the end of the month, people are lining up at the ATM, waiting for their salary.
What will you do after getting the salary? Dine at a fancy restaurant? Buy a new TV?

By the way, how much did your boss pay you? And how much you pay yourself? Did you save some money?

It is intriguing that soon after we get our pay from our boss, we pay other people! Thinks about the barber, the shopkeeper, the vending machine... We always pay ourselves the LAST. Survey shows that average American has only $300 saving per year, which is $25 per month.

Why being so mean on ourselves by spending all the income? Start paying yourself a large salary by saving more.

How about 1 litre of milk in one day?

Today I made a little experiment with my little stomach. I drank one litre of milk today. Yes, you heard me, one litre, as stated on the package.

I mixed the milk with some packaged liquid called Furuche. I spotted it today at local store. As you mixed the Furuche with the milk, the milk started to turn into jelly-like half liquid. And it tastes great. My stomach is full.

I have chosen banana flavor for my experiment, and I going to try for mango flavor next time.
Guess what, I spent only 320 yen, roughly 3.5 dollar today, 140 for milk, 180 for Furuche.

NEED and WANT

It is peculiar that we seem to classify lots of luxuries as "needs" when in fact we are able to survive without those "needs". Want some examples? Coffee at Starbucks, new car, laptop with windows 7, iPod...

When we see something we WANT,  we often justify it with some reasons, such as, my productivity will increase with new computer, I NEED to listen to music... Worse, repetitive enforcement of these NEEDS actually make us believe we NEED these luxuries.

Time to reclassify NEED and WANT.
